Adding a new control to your existing system of Somfy-powered motorized window coverings is easy. The first step is to find the originally programmed transmitter, as you’ll need it for adding the new control. Determine if your original transmitter is a single channel or multichannel device.

Steps for adding a new control

If you have a multichannel remote, select the appropriate channel to copy so you have the correct programming on your new control:

Next, press and hold the programming button on the originally programmed transmitter until the window covering jogs. It might take a few seconds, so don't get discouraged if the window covering doesn't jog immediately upon pressing.

The programming button is located on the back of the remote and can be pressed most easily by using a bent paperclip.

Once the window covering jogs, find the remote to be added. If the new remote is multichannel, make sure to select the appropriate channel where you'd like to add the programming.

Finally, press and hold the programming button on the control to be added until the window covering jogs again.

That's it! The new control will now operate your window coverings!
