A quick guide to semi-automatic limit setting for your Maestria™ 50 RTS motor.

Somfy’s Maestria instructional video will teach you how to program the Maestria motorized exterior screen using semi-automatic settings.

A semi-automatic setting requires a hard stop at the upper end.

A hard stop is considered when the screen has a physical stop between the load bar and the cassette at the upper-end limit.

In this setting LOWER limit is adjusted manually and the UPPER limit is set automatically.

This setting automatically adjusts fabric tightness, guaranteeing constant tension and protection of the screen.

Remember to power only one motor at a time and once programming is initiated make sure the screen is not inactive for more than 2 minutes or the motor will exit the programming mode. If that happens, start from the beginning.

To initiate programming briefly press UP and DOWN simultaneously until the screen jogs.

Check the direction of operation by pressing UP or DOWN and if necessary change it by pressing and holding the MY button until the screen jogs.

Position the screen at the desired LOWER limit. Maestria features ultra-precise limit adjustment with incremental control, which allows positioning the load bar exactly where preferred, providing perfect screen alignment and complete protection from insects and pests.

Press MY and UP simultaneously. The screen raises.

Press MY to stop the screen and press MY again until the screen jogs, validating the LOWER end limit settings.

As a final step, briefly press the programming button on the back of the control until the screen jogs. The motor is now in user mode.

The upper limit setting will be automatically calculated during the first four cycles in user mode. There are no additional steps to be completed. After those four learning cycles, the upper-end limit is established.

To guarantee constant fabric tightness, the motor will frequently recalculate the limit and automatically compensate for any fabric extension.

Maestria is now set up and ready to be enjoyed.
