How to Use Amazon Alexa Devices to Control Your myLink™ Connected Products

Welcome to Somfy’s how-to series. This video explains how to use voice commands to control individual connected products in your Somfy myLink system using the Somfy myLink skill for Amazon Alexa.
A connected product can be a single RTS product like one motorized awning or several RTS products like a room full of motorized shades.
Now let’s get started:
Before you begin, make sure your myLink system is up and running and you’ve enabled the Somfy myLink skill. You can create routines in Alexa to operate several smart home products together. For example, "Alexa, start my good morning routine," might open your shades and turn on your kitchen lights. Or saying, "Alexa, it's time for bed," might close your draperies and turn off your bedside lamp.
Controlling connected products is easy. You can use simple voice commands to control a wide variety of RTS products, list connected products, or ask for help.
A few examples of connected product commands are:
● “Alexa, send patio awning in.
● “Alexa, lower screens.”
● “Alexa, open bedroom shades.”
● “Alexa, ask myLink to list connected products.”
● “Alexa, help me with connected products.”
Remember, connected product names are set in the myLink app. For best results, keep all names to two to four American English words. Also keep in mind that every command (besides those you've set up in Routines) must begin with the phrase, “ Alexa, ask/tell myLink to...”
To see all possible commands for your system go to the “More Commands” section of the Amazon Alexa main menu.
If you make changes to your connected products, update Alexa by saying, “Alexa, ask myLink to refresh configuration,” or by using the update configuration option of the Amazon Alexa main menu.
