How do I delete the control of a motorized window covering or delete a channel from my remote?

You have your bedroom shades programmed to a wall switch but would rather have them programmed to a hand-held remote. Or you have a group of shades programmed on channel two but would rather have that same group programmed on channel three. There are plenty of reasons you might want to delete operation of a motorized product from a control, or delete a particular channel on your remote.

In this post we’ll take you through the process.

It’s important to note that a remote or channel may only be removed if another remote or channel is used to operate the same Somfy-powered motorized product. If you delete control of your motorized shades without first programming it to another control, call us for assistance at 1-800-22SOMFY.

Now it’s time to begin the deletion process:

First, select the remote or channel on the control you’d like to delete. Channels are used to control single motorized products or groups of motorized products. You'll know which channel you're working with when the LED associated with that channel illuminates:

Next, press and hold the programming button on the remote or control you wish to keep until the window covering jogs. A jog is a brief up and down motion of your motorized window covering. The programming button is on the back of your remote and can be pressed most easily with a bent paperclip.

Now that your Somfy-powered motorized product has been programmed to a new control (or channel) it’s time to delete the old programming.

To delete, press and hold the programming button on the remote or channel you wish to delete until the window covering jogs.

That’s it! You’ve successfully deleted a control or channel!
