How to Check the Limits for an RTS Motor

To efficiently check your limits and avoid unnecessary motor cycles, check the limit you are closest to. In this example we are closest to our outer limit, so let’s check that first.

Press down to extend the awning to its outer limit. This is an accurate test. Once at the outer limit, press up to check the inner limit. If you are already at a limit you only need to move the motorized product a few inches to accurately test it.

You have now checked your limits!

Keep in mind cycling the motor too much will send the motor into thermal overload. If this happens, the motor will take 15 to 20 minutes to cool down before proper operation is restored.
